CreativeLAB Antwerp

Toneelhuis invited the artists, students, and partners involved in UNLOCK THE CITY! to join them for the final CreativeLAB in Antwerp. Together with their audience, all partners were welcomed to an engaging discussion on the importance of semi-public spaces. The following day, four artistic projects were presented by Sotterraneo (Milan), Alexandra Laudo (Barcelona), Daniel Chirilă (Piatra Neamț), and Thomas Verstraeten (Antwerp).

Workshop Marta Cuscunà

DAMU hosted the workshop Neurospasta Mechanica by Marta Cuscunà. The workshop was inspired by the site-specific performance Bucolica. Paesaggio per fischiatori, pecore e umani. The workshop by Marta Cuscunà explored how to tell ecofeminist stories through visual theatre.

Workshop Irina Moscu

In the workshop with Irina Moscu the BA Scenography students were exploring the materiality of dreams. It encourages risk-taking, embracing unpredictability, and focusing on raw, sensory experiences rather than polished aesthetics. Students channeled their intuition, primitive impulses, and personal creativity to craft spaces that captivate and transport their audiences into a dreamlike state.

Workshop Bart Van Nuffelen

DAMU hosted an inspiring 3-day workshop with theatre maker Bart Van Nuffelen. Titled Every Person is a Museum the workshop explored the powerful idea that everyday people—those often overlooked in society—carry monumental stories worth telling on stage.
