Teatrul Tineretului

The Theatre of Youth is a public theatre. It supports emerging theatre creators. Since its inception, in 1958, it has been a perfect host for young graduates and debutants to become some of the most important actors on Romanian stages or directors that influenced (including as pedagogues) the European and American theatre.

The core business of The Theatre of Youth in its current phase are: collaboration, community, contemporary, regional, national and international co-production. A stable crew of 25 actors with an average age, on two stages, with an artistic direction focused on educational projects and contemporary dramaturgy, including performances inspired and developed from community narratives based on texts written specifically for the theatre’s actors.

The performances produced by Teatrul Tineretului will be signed by artists Irina Moscu, Bogdan Zamfir and Daniel Chirilă.

BOGDAN ZAMFIR

Theatre and film actor; author and theatre director
Bogdan Zamfir is a Romanian theatre and film actor. He lives in Brussels and works mainly
in French-speaking countries (Belgium and France). As an actor, he collaborated with the
French director Joël Pommerat, but also with directors such as Christophe Sermet or
Christine Delmotte-Weber. In Romania, he collaborated with the director Gianina Carbunariu
and the filmmaker Radu Jude. In parallel with his acting career, he develops projects as an
author and theatre director. In its creative process, events from the immediate reality are
deconstructed and re-assembled in a fiction-document type frame so that the boundaries
between "real" and "theatrical" are as fluctuating as possible.
